Alfa Romeo Giulietta And MiTo Model Year 2014: The Passion Is Rekindled
Alfa Romeo Giulietta and MiTo Model Year 2014: the passion is rekindled – Oct 21, 2013– Torino, Italy (AutoReleased) – The new Giulietta Model Year 2014 and MiTo Model Year 2014 express the true values of the brand in their respective segments: Italian style, performance and engineering excellence for maximum driving satisfaction and total safety. Alfa Romeo cars have always been dedicated to those who expect a response that goes beyond the concept of ‘useful means of transport’ to cross over into that of the truest ‘excitement’.
All this is wrapped up in one word at Alfa Romeo: Passion. This is the creative force that has guided the work of designers and engineers every day for over a century. It is that same passion that inflames its many fans around the world, from South Africa and Japan to Sri Lanka and Argentina. There are more than 350 Alfa Romeo clubs and more than 1 million fans registered on the official Alfa Romeo pages on Facebook. And that’s not all. If you search for ‘Alfa Romeo’ on Google, it brings up over 64 million images.
These numbers confirm a genuine and shared passion that comes from an extraordinary technological and human heritage, a heritage that has contributed to writing some of the most important pages in automotive history and that is reinterpreted every time a new model is designed. The new Giulietta Model Year 2014 and MiTo MY 2014 are certainly no exception. These two cars have made a mark in their respective segments with their perfect alchemy of essential style, compact and powerful engines, the right power to weight ratio and pure Alfa Romeo technological features devoted to driving pleasure.
The Giulietta model has taken Alfa Romeo into the lead in an important segment in Europe, proving to everyone that ‘powerful’ can also be ‘efficient’, that ‘elegant’ can be ‘comfortable’ and that ‘compact’ can also be ‘fun’. That’s why the Giulietta has received no fewer than 22 awards and notched up a total of 224,000 sales since launch – in mid-2010 – to date. The model was on the list of ‘top ten’ best-selling cars in Italy throughout 2012.
The MiTo model was also enthusiastically welcomed by the public, and especially by a new generation of Alfisti, young customers, who were thus able to fulfil a dream: buy a sporty and safe car with distinctive style and technological content offered at an accessible price. At the same time, focus on fuel consumption and emissions, plus its dynamic qualities and compact size, made the MiTo model an attractive proposition for a more adult clientele in an automotive scenario that seems to reward the downsizing trend.
The new interpretations of the Giulietta and MiTo confirm the ‘Alfa Romeo passion’ that Orazio Satta Puliga (1910-1974), one of the brand’s great designers, explained as follows: “Alfa Romeo is more than a mere car factory. Its cars are something more than automobiles built in a conventional manner. Enthusiasm for a means of transport is a kind of illness. It is a way of living, a very particular way of conceiving a motor vehicle. Something that defies definition. Its elements are like those irrational traits of the human spirit that cannot be explained in logical terms”.
Alfa Romeo Giulietta Model Year 2014
In order to continue playing the starring role in its segment, the new Alfa Romeo Giulietta Model Year 2014 offers important innovations, starting with the new 150 HP 2.0 JTDM 2 complete with the second-generation MultiJet injection system. With this engine, the new car records top performance, with a top speed of 210 km/h and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.8 seconds. All this with very low fuel consumption and emissions: the figures recorded on the type-approval combined cycle were 4.2 litres of fuel per 100 km and just 110 g/km of CO2, respectively.
