Chevrolet has just announced their latest iteration of the Equinox has gone on sale. The Detroit company is proud of its crossover’s fresh new look and better handling for the 2018 model year.

Along with some performance upgrades, the car has been given an arsenal of safety features that the entire family can take advantage of. Chevy also modernized the infotainment system to help drivers stay connected but safe; it’s taken into account the latest technology trends to create a car perfect for smartphone integration and hands-free functionality. With the smash-hit that was the Bolt EV’s launch, Chevrolet hopes to continue its success in the crossover market.

Chevy’s new Equinox will focus on a blend of handling and ride quality, giving the car a sporty feel without sacrificing comfort. The Equinox has gotten a suspension tune and a firmer chassis, giving it a lighter and more agile drive. That means you’ll be able to carve the canyons and then go pick the kids up from school without switching vehicles. Chevy also promises more cabin and trunk space; this combined with the car’s new body mean that it is lighter than ever.

Speaking of performance, the Equinox has three new turbocharged engine options to choose from. The 1.5L gas and 1.6L diesel options are available now, but if you want more power you’ll have to wait for Chevy’s 252 horsepower 2.0L engine coming soon. If you want better fuel economy, the diesel engine will get 40 mpg on the highway. The gas engines aren’t far behind though, making 29-32 mpg; you really can’t lose in terms of efficiency.

Although the Equinox has been tuned for sportiness, safety is also a top priority for Chevrolet. The Equinox will feature Chevy’s latest collision assist technology, and its revolutionary body has also been fitted with a stronger safety enclosure to cushion passengers. The company has also fitted the crossover with Chevy’s Teen Driver system, making it a great choice for parents to teach the next generation of drivers on.
