Renault Reveals Details Of The New Kadjar SUV: Find Out More Here!
There’s a new kid in town. And he goes by the name of Kadjar! Well, Renault Kadjar to be precise. The French firm has revealed details of a new SUV they are launching in the market later this year. They hope to take on the likes of the Nissan Qashqai!
You won’t find many details of the new Renault Kadjar just yet. That’s because the firm is going for an official launch at the 2015 Geneva International Motor Show in March. Europeans can expect to find this new model in Renault dealerships in autumn.
The new Renault Kadjar is what the company dubs as the bigger brother of the Renault Captur. In case you didn’t know, the Captur is a small crossover vehicle based on the flagship Clio model.
Renault has not given any technical details on the new Kadjar SUV just yet. So we’ll have to wait until the full reveal at the Geneva Motor Show next month. Still, there are a few details that we can share with you. And they are as follows:
Interior and Exterior Dimensions
As I mentioned earlier, Renault hopes that the new Kadjar will be a strong competitor for those buying the Nissan Qashqai. The Kadjar is longer than the Qashqai, at 4.45 metres. It’s also 1.84 metres wide and 1.6 metres tall.
The boot is also larger than the Qashqai. It has a volume of 472 litres with the seats in their upright position. It also comes with some useful features, such as handles on the seats to help pull them down.
And the seats themselves are of a 60/40 arrangement. The boot floor is also adjustable to further utilise the space provided.
Meanwhile, the front passenger seat can get lowered to form a small table, believe it or not! It’s also practical in the sense you can load long cargo, like pipes or planks of wood, without having to keep the boot open as you drive!
Most people know that Renault and Nissan share a manufacturing alliance. What is notable about the Kadjar is that it shares a lot of parts from the Qashqai. In essence, Renault wants to offer something akin to Nissan’s Qashqai, but different at the same time (if that makes sense)!
One might say that the exterior of the two cars is different, but what’s underneath is mostly the same.
Do you want to get an idea of what the Kadjar will look like inside? You could always check out the Nissan Qashqai cars at Autoworld. As I mentioned earlier, the fundamental underpinning of the two models is the same.
There’s no word on what engines will be available in the new Renault Kadjar. But it’s expected that they’ll feature 1.5-litre diesel and 1.6-litre petrol units. Of course, Renault are keeping quiet on what will be under the bonnet.
Still, you only have to wait a month for the official reveal at the Geneva Motor Show to find out more details!
