Toyota Australia Add Family-friendly Features To LandCruiser Prado Altitude
Toyota Australia add family-friendly features to LandCruiser Prado Altitude – May 27, 2013– Melbourne, Australia (AutoReleased) – Toyota Australia has crammed more than $10,000 of family-friendly features into its most popular LandCruiser Prado variant to produce a value-packed special-edition model.
LandCruiser Prado Altitude gains even more luxury-level multimedia, technology and comfort features for just $5,000 over the price of the Prado GXL on which it is based.
The arrival of the Altitude special-edition model is set to cement Prado’s position as Australia’s best-selling Large SUV, following record sales achieved in 2012.
This year, Prado has continued to lead the way, becoming the only vehicle in its class to surpass 200,000 sales in Australia.
LandCruiser Prado Altitude upgrades focus on the interior with added equipment usually reserved for the more expensive and luxurious VX or Kakadu grades.
Added features include a seven-inch touch-screen that incorporates satellite navigation. The screen also displays guidelines on the rear-view camera image to assist when reversing or parking^.
Seven-seat Prado Altitude gains a leather-accented interior and easy-to-read Optitron instruments, as well as a 14-speaker sound system – eight more than in GXL – and a six-disc in-dash CD/DVD changer with remote control.
It is fitted with a rear-seat entertainment system that comes with a nine-inch monitor mounted from the ceiling, DVD player, 5.1-channel surround sound and three wireless headphones. It can be operated from the touch-screen display in the front seats and by remote control from the rear seats.
Exterior enhancements extend to a tilt-and-slide moonroof, four sonar parking sensors at the front (along with four already fitted to the rear), privacy glass and an Altitude badge.
Produced only until the end of June, the Prado Altitude is offered with Toyota’s powerful 3.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine, which is mated to a five-speed automatic transmission with gated shift.
The Altitude retains GXL features including three-zone climate-controlled air-conditioning, audio controls on the steering wheel, smart entry and start, cruise control and long-range fuel tanks (87-litre main and 63-litre sub).
There are seven airbags, vehicle stability and traction control, anti-skid brakes, hill-start assist control and downhill assist control.
Prices for the LandCruiser Prado Altitude start from $68,990* with the choice of four exterior colours – Crystal Pearl (previously reserved for Kakadu and VX grades), Ebony, Silver Pearl and Graphite.
All exterior colours can be matched with black interior trim while Crystal Pearl and Ebony also come with the choice of ivory trim.
Prado has grown in popularity over the years. It took Toyota just over 10 years to sell 100,000 and only seven more years to double the tally.
In the past decade, customers bought an average of more than 14,600 a year, making Prado a significant contributor during a period in which Toyota has been the overall market leader.
LandCruiser Prado is covered by Toyota Service Advantage capped-price servicing at $210 per service#.
