The 2015 Guide To Electric Cars
Electric car sales have grown steadily since their introduction in 2010. Plug-in vehicle adoption exceeds the adoption of hybrid vehicles over the same timeframe in their market developments.
Full-year sales for 2011 were fewer than 45,000 worldwide. In 2012, that number tripled to over 120,000. And it’s currently expected that this year more than 430,000 plug-in electric vehicles are expected to be sold.
Manufacturers making EVs now include Nissan, Tesla, GM, Ford, Honda, Mitsubishi, Toyota, BMW, Mercedes, Smart, Kia, Fiat and several Chinese automakers. These plug-in vehicles have received a wealth of consumer and industry awards.
