The 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk: A Hellcat Powered SUV

Must read

The 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk is perhaps one of the most ludicrous sport utility vehicles to ever roll out of a manufacturer’s facility. With a supercharged 6.2L Hemi putting out 707 hp and 645 lb-ft of torque through an incredibly robust all-wheel-drive system, it truly is a wolf in sheep’s clothing capable of a blistering 0-60 time of just 3.4 seconds and a top speed of 180 mph!

Weighing in at more than 5,300 pounds, just how quick this behemoth feels is a little unnatural, but we can virtually guarantee it’ll plaster a big grin on your face and maybe even make you laugh like a little school girl —it’s that ridiculous when you put your foot into it for the first time.

Not only is this new Jeep an incredible all-around performer with an impressive ability to corner and stop on a dime despite its hefty weight, it’s luxurious too. Inside a fully optioned model you find more amenities than you’ll know what to do with. We’re talking heated and air-conditioned seats wrapped in Laguna leather, 19-speaker Harman/Kardon sound system, Blu-Ray DVD player with seatback-mounted displays to keep rear passengers entertained, and even a heated steering wheel.

We’re tempted to call the Trackhawk overpriced when a unit with all the bells and whistles edges north of 100 grand — it is just a Jeep after all — but you get so much for your money it’s hard to say that it is. No other factory vehicle — with a warranty, mind you — that we know of, has the ability to tow 7,200 pounds and then lay down a 1.6 60-foot time once you unhook the trailer. Who’s to say that’s not practical?
